Please note that a one time application fee of 50 euro applies to all research applications (danceWEB, ATLAS , ImPacT and 8:tension participants or ImPulsTanz teachers excluded). With the payment of this fee, the application is binding and obliges you to pay the fee of the research project in case of acceptance. The application fee is then included in the project fee.

This research delves into the ocean as a space of ancestral knowledge, blending dance practice in water and studio settings. By exploring the bodily movements of oceanic animal ancestors and water entities as pedagogies, the practice transforms into ancient-future organisms through touch, dance, and songs. It highlights mestizo, first nations, and Afro-diasporic ontologies
of water encoded in dance and song and investigates oceanic movements as vital sources of transformation and life.

This research project is addressed to artists ( dancers, choreographers and arts practitioners) who can swim and are interested in exploring the intersections between dance, artistic research and the visual arts while being (in) water. This research project also proposes forms of healing that don’t presuppose disease. So artists interested in the transformative powers of touch are welcomed to apply.
